Municipal/Industrial + Get AlertsTo help equip utility contractors with the latest technology for optimal drilling productivity, the Ditch Witch organization added the evolutionary JT40 directional drill to its fleet of drills.
The JT40 leverages direct input from HDD operators to meet specific job site needs, and help ensure drillers are comfortable and productive for long hours on the job. The drill is available with the option of a fully enclosed cab with premium heat and air capabilities, or an open operator’s station designed with integrated vandal covers. Both options feature a premium ergonomic seat, extended legroom and place the operator at a 45-degree angle, which provides visibility of all critical vision points.
The machine’s raw power, provided by a 160 gross hp, Tier 4 Cummins diesel engine, gives operators 20 more horsepower in a smaller footprint over competitive 15-feet drill-pipe models in its class. The unit also minimizes pipe-entry distance, providing operators increased drill pipe support as it enters the ground. The optimized carriage speed gives contractors shorter cycle times for faster utility installations. It holds up to 600-feet of drill pipe onboard, allowing for longer bores and increased ROI.
